So this just happened. Jimmy Fallon’s wish finally happened and had his successor, Jay Leno, back on his show.

The legendary comedian returned to the show to give Fallon some much-needed “assist,” after the latter faked an injury and said “I need someone to tag in for me.”

And Leno went in straight for the kill. His first joke was about Bill and Hillary Clinton’s marriage, but he was just getting warmed up.

One especially shocking joke Leno made about Ted Cruz’s controversial ad prompted him to say, “See. I don’t care. They can’t fire me.”
